Coffee-Oatmeal Cookies
Posted under Pastries, Snacks

I have always been wanting to bake cookies and finally, here it is. I decided to create my own mix of cookie dough. I prepared this for a specific purpose, keep me full during the dawn. Well, that’s why I thought of doing a coffee-based cookie with oatmeal. Coffee for keeping me up and oatmeal is rich in fibers… just being “health-conscious.” Like other cookies, it’s easy to prepare and with similar steps.
Banana Flower “Puso ng Saging” Burger
Posted under Filipino Dishes, Snacks

Banana is a common crop in the country and can be planted even in your own backyard. Our family has a small banana plantation which produces banana just for personal consumptions but sometimes we sell it. One of the by-product of banana or plantain (now I know why Banana is called Platanos in Chavacano) is the flower. It’s edible and commonly used in Philippines for Paela, Kari-kari and other Pinoy dishes. When the banana fruit is approaching maturity, the flowers are cut out. So, this banana flower will be our main ingredient today for our Banana Flower (Puso ng Saging) Burger, perfect for snack. I learned to cook this one when I was in level 5 in grade school.
Chinese Noodle Crackers

This is a classic snack food in our town made from dried Chinese noodles, locally known as “chika-chika”. I decided to cook this again because we have some left-over noodles which might get wasted, instead I used it to prepare a simple snack.
