Cebu’s Famous: Chinese Ngohiong
Posted under Chinese Dishes, Food Trips

Was catching up with a friend via chat last time and asked me when will I be going back to Zamboanga. I told him very soon. He then told me to bring them ‘pasalubong‘ (a home-coming present or gift). Well, that’s common to most Filipinos. Who does not want ‘pasalubong‘, right? Foods and delicacies of the place you visited are the usual ‘pasalubong’, so I told him about Cebu’s Shamrock Otap or Ngohiong. He told me to bring Ngohiong. So, before bringing them some Cebu’s famous Ngohiong soon, might as well try it first.

Yet another food trip destination in Zamboanga City. Well, it’s Dimsum at Char-cole Restaurant! One of my favorite dish, Chinese dish that is. There is the usual Chowking dimsum but you might want to try something different, try this dimsum at Char-cole Restaurant at the Catribo Complex, Zamboanga City. It’s quite new in their menu. Char-cole Restaurant also offers the usual dine-out dishes like pork or chicken barbecue, seafood, noodles, different beverages, etc.

One of my favorite Chinese food is the dumpling (or also known as siomai locally). Siomai is a dish wrapped in a molo wrapper, a thin flour-based sheets that can be bought in the grocery’s frozen section. The common meat filling I know is pork and beef. Since I am craving for it and want to try preparing and cooking it, here it is – the homemade steamed Pork Siomai (dumplings).
