Bacon-Wrapped Vegetables

I just felt like creating a new dish today for dinner. So, I went to the grocery and bought random ingredients and came up with a recipe on my way home. I have a bag of vegetables and a pack of bacon, so… taddah! Here’s a new dish created from that.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of bacon (6-8 thin sheets/slices)
  • 1 large carrot
  • 3 pcs. red bell pepper
  • 1/4 kilo Baguio beans (or String beans)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper
  • Cooking oil

Unpack the bacon and separate each. Set it aside first.

Now, peel or clean each vegetable as necessary. Cut the baguio beans, carrots and red bell peppers into strips (should be like the size of french fries.)

For the powder mixture, mix the flour, garlic power, salt and pepper in a small container. This mixture will be used to coat the bacon when wrapped with the vegetables. Get a piece of bacon and put 2-3 pieces of each vegetable and wrap it. Do until bacon is done. Then, roll each in the powder mixture.

Now, it’s ready for deep-fry for about 3 minutes.  You can serve this with ketchup. By the way, you can change the vegetables as you want or even add more. Whatever fits best for your appetite will do.
